Maldives: Tourist Country with a Million Dreams

Maldives is a country located around Sri Lanka. You could say the Maldives is a paradise for beach and ocean tourism. In 2016, the Maldives received an award as the World Leading Beach Destination at the World Travel Awards. The Maldives was also named the best destination for diving lovers in the same year.

Talking about the dream country I want to visit, then I have my own list. I am interested in the disciplined culture of Japan, I am also amazed by the lively football culture in England. I am also interested in visiting the happiest country in the world, namely Finland. Saudi Arabia is also included in the list of countries I want to visit one day. But for now, I’m actually dreaming of being able to vacation in the Maldives.

About a year ago, I went on a trip to Pulau Seribu. There I visited the Island of Hope. Even though it was only 2 days 1 night, the vacation was very memorable. It turns out that there are many pleasant experiences to be had while on vacation to the sea. Starting from snorkeling, diving, fishing, island hopping, to relaxing on the beach.

Maldives is a country located around Sri Lanka. You could say the Maldives is a paradise for beach and ocean tourism. In 2016, the Maldives received an award as the World Leading Beach Destination at the World Travel Awards. The Maldives was also named the best destination for diving lovers in the same year.

Reflecting on that, of course the Maldives is a dream destination for beach kids like me. I dream to be able to vacation there someday. The Maldives has many advantages in its coastal tourism. In this post, I may only mention the best three. Among others are :

1. The inn is above the sea

Cottage-style lodging is common in the Maldives. Tourists who vacation there are sure to stay in many cottages that stand majestically above the sea. Indeed, there are also those who stay at inns on the island, but most tourists prefer cottages. There are not many cottages of this model in Indonesia or other countries. As for the existing ones, I think they are still less beautiful than in the Maldives.

Staying in a cottage with luxurious facilities, supported by a view of the green Tosca expanse of the sea will certainly make a memorable stay. Not to mention that tourists can swim to their heart’s content, because they only need to swim from their cottages. Or if you want to fill your spare time with light activities such as reading or just eating, it will be much more fun if you do it there.

2. Its natural beauty is the best

The natural beauty of the Maldives is unquestionable. Be it the beach, the sand, or the underwater world, it’s impressive. The coral reefs there are very enchanting for lovers of snorkeling or diving. The sea water is clean and blue, adding to the intimate impression in it.

The islands in the Maldives are very natural. The sand beaches are white and become a tourist attraction that hits among tourists. The underwater world is still filled with fish and sea turtles. There are many snorkeling locations there that contain beautiful shells, turtles and fish.

At night when the weather is good, you can also see the milky way with its million beauty. The natural beauty that exists in the Maldives is my main attraction for tourism there.

3. Pollution free

One of the best things you can find in the Maldives is that this country is very pollution-free, be it on the islands, the beaches or the sea. This is quite surprising, because many other tourism countries have difficulty in dealing with the problem of waste/pollution.

Maldives is pollution free because the environment is far from industry and there are no motorized vehicles there. For me, this is an important point of a dream tourist spot. Because the purpose of traveling is to refresh the body and mind. So traveling to a pollution-free place would be fun.

As a country, the Maldives also has a variety of uniqueness and is rich in culture. The population of Maldives is mostly Muslim and their livelihood is fishermen. Every year the people there celebrate various big festivals. The language spoken in the Maldives is Divehi. However, since Maldives is visited by many international tourists, some of its residents are also proficient in English.

The currency of the Maldives is the Rufiyaa. Pretty familiar isn’t it? Of course, because the spelling is similar to Indonesian currency. 1 Rufiyaa itself when converted to rupiah is 900 rupiahs. The capital of the Maldives is Male. The city is not very wide and can be surrounded only on foot. In general, the Maldives are quite friendly. Many say that the friendliness of the people is similar to that of people in Indonesia.

That’s why there is a distinct closeness between the Maldives and Indonesia. The culture and culinary there are also similar to Indonesia. Let’s peel them one by one.

1. Culture

Geographically, the Maldives lies between India and Africa. That’s why the culture there is much inspired from the two countries. If you look at the art of music and dance in the Maldives, you will find elements of India and Africa in it. But overall the culture in Maldives is influenced by Islamic culture with a little mixture of Buddhism in it.

Both the mosque and the boats there are made by incorporating a little Buddhist element in their design. The belief system itself is dominated by Islam, but local residents still believe in myths or superstitions. Every major Islamic day, the community will hold big festivals every year.\

2. Culinary

In addition to its natural beauty, the Maldives is also famous for its culinary tourism. The typical food there is quite famous among international tourists such as briyani rice, bajiya, garudiya, gulha, huni roshi and mas huni.

Among the foods above I am interested in trying mas huni, huni roshi, and briyani. Mas huni is a typical Maldives food made from a mixture of coconut and tuna. This food is suitable for lunch because it is not too heavy.

For residents, Roshi itself is a typical Maldives food that is similar to a kebab. If you go to the Maldives, then you must taste it. Huni roshi is a complementary food for mas huni. Briyani itself is rice with a side dish of chicken. This food is famous for being delicious, because the spices used are directly from the Maldives, so the taste is very strong and distinctive.

So those are the reasons why Maldives is my dream country. There are many interesting elements, such as nature, culture, people to the food. The Maldives is also suitable as a honeymoon place for newly married couples. This is perfect for me who just got married. I also plan to go to the Maldives one day.

For two people at least I have to have 30 million for all the needs there. Vacation money of that size would be quite heavy for a private employee like me. That’s why I have to be smart in managing my money while looking for additional income. I aim to be able to go to the Maldives a maximum of one year from now. To achieve this, then I do the following tips:

1. Saving regularly from salary

Although the value is not large, I immediately set aside some of my paycheck for capital to the Maldives. This capital will help me improve my performance while working so that I can get other incentives or bonuses from work.

2. Look for promo tickets

Usually, overseas trips are expensive for plane tickets. Well, I almost every day check ticket promos from existing travel and travel agencies. With promo tickets, travel costs will be much reduced. My friend once got a PP ticket to Europe at a low price because he got a promo. Seeing that I became even more excited to get it too.

3. Win as many blog competitions as you can

Besides working as a private employee, I am also a blogger. One of the income of a blogger is by winning a blog competition. The blog competition itself is usually worth millions of rupiah. Within a month quite a lot of blog competitions are available. If I can win a blog contest at least once a month, of course in a year I can go to the Maldives smoothly and hassle-free.

Those are the ways that I do to get to my dream country in the next one year. Hopefully those of you who dream of going to a dream country can be achieved in the near future, yes.
